Pelvic floor training for men — Chelmsford
The muscle most men never think about — until something changes.
Leaking or dribbling after the loo. Rushing to get there. Changes after prostate surgery. Not feeling as strong or in control as you used to. It often comes back to one muscle — and it can be trained.
Like any muscle, it grows one way: it has to contract. Most men can't make it contract properly on their own — that's not a failing, it's just how this muscle works. That's exactly what the chair does for you.
- Fully clothed
- No internal examination

You'll be looked after by Frank — a man who understands, and who'll put you at ease from the first minute. No embarrassment, nothing invasive.

What brings men to us
Different reasons, but almost always the same muscle underneath.
After prostate surgery
Many men come to us after a prostatectomy, when bladder control isn’t what it was. Rebuilding the pelvic floor can make a real difference to control and confidence.
Leaking, dribbling, or dashing to the loo
Small leaks, post-toilet dribble, or a sudden urgent need — common, rarely talked about, and often down to this muscle.
Feeling less strong or in control
A sense that things aren’t what they were. Rebuilding core pelvic strength can help you feel more like yourself.
How a muscle gets stronger — and what a strong pelvic floor does
Every muscle in your body strengthens the same way: through contraction. Work it, and it adapts and gets stronger. Neglect it, and it weakens. Your pelvic floor is no different — though most men never think to train it, and many couldn't consciously find it if they tried. (It's not one muscle, either — it's three layers working together.)
So what does a strong, well-functioning pelvic floor actually do? The honest, factual answer:
- It supports bladder and bowel control — helping you hold on, and avoid leaks, dribble, and urgency.
- It’s the base of your core — working with your deep abdominal and back muscles to stabilise your trunk and pelvis. For active men, that matters for strength, posture, and control.
- It helps hold everything in place — supporting the pelvic organs against pressure and gravity.
- It plays a role in sexual function — these muscles are part of how the body works in that area, too.
And here's the honest bit most places skip: it's not simply about being strong. A pelvic floor needs to be strong and able to relax. One that's too tight is as much a problem as one that's too weak — which is exactly why we work out which one you are before we do anything.
We won't make you promises. We'll give you the facts, look at what your body actually needs, and let you decide.
We find out what your body actually needs

Not every pelvic floor is simply weak. Some are too tight. Some are a mix. They need different approaches — and most places never check. Before anything else, we take the time to understand your floor and match the approach to you. And if there's ever any doubt, we start gently and build up slowly.
After prostate surgery especially, the pelvic floor often needs careful, targeted rebuilding — not a one-size-fits-all programme. That's why your first session isn't just a go on the chair. It's where we work out what your body actually needs.
Real men. Real Chelmsford. Real results.
In their own words.
“In a very comfortable setting, I talked through my issues and concerns with Frank… I’m now half way through my course and can already feel improvement and confidence both physically and mentally — as well as a sense of greater strength in my core.”
“Wonderful and kind. Caring and compassionate. Great results. The environment is very relaxed and soothing… Dignified and compassionate, addressing mind and body.”
“If there is one thing I really appreciate it’s honesty, and speaking to people that know what you have been through. Frank has this nailed down.”
How it works
A free Discovery Session
15 minutes on the chair. You’ll feel a real, powerful contraction — or we don’t proceed. No cost, no pressure.
You’ll be with us for around thirty to forty-five minutes in total, depending on how many questions you have.
The muscle does the work
You sit comfortably, fully clothed. The chair prompts your pelvic floor to contract properly and deeply — far more than you could manage alone.
A plan that fits you
We match the approach to your body — how many sessions, how often, and for how long depends on what your floor actually needs. No surprises, and you decide.

You'll be looked after by Frank — no embarrassment, nothing invasive.
We'll send you a short health questionnaire to complete at home, in your own time, before you come in. It matters for two reasons: some conditions and implants mean the chair isn't suitable, and we check every form personally before your visit. It also means we already know your history when you arrive — so there's nothing you'll need to explain across a desk.
